How to Convert BPMN to Visio

  1. Export or copy your BPMN 2.0 XML — from Camunda Modeler, bpmn.io, Signavio, or any BPMN editor (File → Export → BPMN 2.0 XML). Keep the BPMNDiagram section so your layout carries over.

Layout Preservation (BPMN DI)

Most BPMN exports embed layout coordinates in a BPMNDiagram section (the Diagram Interchange). This converter reads those coordinates — shape positions, sizes, and connector waypoints — and reproduces them exactly in the Visio output. If your XML has no DI section, a layered left-to-right auto-layout is applied instead and the summary tells you so.

How to Import BPMN into Visio
