What is a GS1 Digital Link? A standard (GS1 Digital Link URI Syntax) for expressing GS1 identifiers — the numbers behind barcodes — as web URLs. Instead of a barcode that only a scanner understands, every product can carry a link like https://example.com/01/09506000134352/21/SN123456 where 01 is the GTIN, 21 the serial number, 17 expiry, and 10 the batch. Scanned by any phone camera, it opens your product page with the identity data intact.

Why it matters: EU FMD serialisation, DSCSA in the US, and consumer transparency programs all drive GTIN+serial marking; Digital Link is the bridge from those identifiers to the web. The QR code you generate here is scannable by any standard camera app.

About the Gs1 Digital Link

The GS1 Digital Link turns the numbers behind barcodes into web addresses. Instead of a GTIN that only a scanner understands, a product carries a link like https://example.com/01/09506000134352/21/SN123456 — the same identifiers (GTIN, serial, lot, expiry), but openable by any phone camera and resolvable to your product page. EU FMD serialisation, US DSCSA, and consumer-transparency programs are all pushing identifiers onto the web; Digital Link is the standard bridge.

This tool builds the URI from your identifiers — validating the GTIN check digit and date formats as you type — and renders the QR code ready for packaging. Paste any Digital Link (or a raw element string like (01)0950…(21)SN123) back in and it decodes and validates every pair. Everything runs locally: your batch and serial data describes real shipments.

How to use
